Stop starting, start finishing

Over years running £multi-million IT portfolios, "stop starting, start finishing" almost became my mantra. The excitement and enthusiasm generated by starting a new project can lead to teams juggling multiple projects and struggling to make progress on any of them. Starting is fun and full of hope,  but let's face it, having too many ongoing projects can be overwhelming and counterproductive.  Instead of starting new projects, focus on finishing the ones that matter most. Prioritize your projects and identify the ones that align with your goals and values. By focusing on completion, you'll not only feel a sense of accomplishment but also free up time and mental space to take on new and exciting opportunities. 

It's with a certain sense of irony then,  that I found myself circling back to this as an independent artist. This painting had been on the easel for a month along with too many others, lurking in various states of near but not quite completion. It was time to stop starting new works and start finishing those already on the easel. I'm feeling better already.
